By right of birth
A child born on the territory of Argentina is entitled to citizenship by birthright, regardless
of the nationality of the parents. Parents and close relatives of the newborn can obtain a
residence permit and Argentine passport through a simplified procedure. According to the
legislation, children born in the country receive their citizenship documents within 1 to 1.5
months. This method of obtaining an Argentine passport is one of the fastest. Additionally, all
descendants of a child born in Argentina automatically acquire the country's citizenship by
blood right.
